GM Unsure of Second Saturn Plant Site: A spokesman for General Motors Corp.’s Saturn Corp. said a decision has not yet been made on the location of a second assembly plant for the popular small cars now made in Spring Hill, Tenn. Saturn spokesman Bill Betts disputed a report in Automotive News that said the nation’s largest auto maker is about to announce that its Bowling Green, Ky., plant, which now makes Chevrolet Corvette sports cars, will be converted to a second Saturn plant. Expanding the Spring Hill complex still exists as an alternative to using a current GM factory somewhere else, Betts said.
