Officer Shoots Black Bear to Death at Firing Range

A black bear that wandered onto a firing range where prison guards were taking target practice was shot to death by the range master. The Corrections Department is considering disciplinary action against Officer Paul Buckner, even though a state wildlife investigator said Buckner had a hunting license and the bear was properly harvested.
