Five adults and two youths were arrested Friday in a series of early morning raids on residences of alleged gang members in Oxnard.

The 6:30 a.m raids, conducted by 65 officers from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department and the Ventura County Correction Services Agency, were the third set of gang-related raids in the last few months.

“Basically, it’s going along with the sheriff’s policy of zero-tolerance of gang violence in the community,” said sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Dick Southwick.

Southwick said gang members who were on probation for previous convictions were targeted in the raid.

The searches, he said, were part of the probation terms.

The raids resulted in the seizure of four billy clubs, two illegal martial arts weapons, small amounts of cocaine and marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia.

One arrestee, 25-year-old Albert Tico Andrade, was wanted by the U.S. Marshal for violation of probation after a bank robbery conviction.
