White’s Story at Cal Has a Happy Ending

The report of Russell White graduating from Cal was refreshing, indeed. It wasn’t too long ago that the media, including The Times, took shots at Cal for enrolling White, who possessed such “questionable” academic qualifications. Later, when White’s learning disability (dyslexia) was revealed, the critics piped down considerably. And when White deferred his NFL draft status to complete his course of studies, the critics’ silence was deafening. It’s nice to see that, once in a while, the system works.
