Biopool Sells 1.17 Million Shares of Common Stock

Biopool International Inc., a Ventura maker of blood-disorder diagnostic kits, said it completed a private placement of 1.17 million shares of its unregistered common stock.
The stock was purchased by International Capital Partners Inc. of Stamford, Conn. and VK Capital Co. of San Francisco for $1.875 a share, or a total of about $2.2 million.
Biopool said that proceeds would be used to help pay off existing debt, purchase capital equipment, for research and development and to promote marketing efforts.
