Stocks Rise on Hope of Chinese Trade: Malaysian stocks rocketed to record highs last week amid hectic speculation over potential contracts in China and at home. The Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange’s benchmark Composite Index advanced 8.76 points to 746.29 on Friday, smashing the record of 741.27 set June 2. The broader Industrials Index gained 21.23 points to 1,309.76, breaking the record of 1,295.21 established May 18.
