Cut Clear Is a Clear-Cut Winner at Hollywood Park
Cut Clear led all the way Wednesday and registered a 3 1/2-length victory over Queens Court Queen in the $50,000 feature race at Hollywood Park.
Cut Clear, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye, was closely pursued by Queens Court Queen for most of the 1 1/16 miles on the turf, but drew away under a hand ride in the stretch and was timed in 1:40 3/5.
The winner carried 117 pounds in the field of six older fillies and mares.
Cut Clear, a British-bred, paid $4.80, $2.60 and $2.20. Queens Court Queen returned $2.80 and $2.60. La Sarcelle paid $2.80 to show.
The victory, worth $27,500, increased Cut Clear’s earnings to $94,403.
