Share

Security Environmental Systems of Garden Grove said Monday that it has won a $2.4-million contract extension from the Pentagon for handling the disposal of hazardous wastes at several military bases.

President Stephen I. Grossman said the one-year extension makes the total contract worth $4.7 million. Under the deal, the company will continue to manage hazardous waste disposal at the Navy’s Port Hueneme and Air Force bases at Point Mugu and Vandenberg.

The company also said Monday that it sold its medical waste disposal business in May to Browning Ferris Industries for $5 million and will use the proceeds to invest in its hazardous waste transportation and disposal business.
