Deputies Arrest Burglary Suspect
Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man on suspicion of burglary Saturday afternoon as he walked out of a Thousand Oaks house with a VCR in his arms and jewelry in his pockets, authorities said.
Deputies, alerted by a neighbor, watched as the man piled $1,000 worth of goods--including two videocassette recorders, a camera, jewelry and beer--by the rear door of a home in the 1300 block of Windsor Drive, a sheriff’s report said. After the man made several trips into the house, two officers stepped in and arrested him.
The suspect, 22-year-old Laonal Perez of Thousand Oaks, is being held in the East County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
