Entrepreneur Buys Mexico City’s Largest Daily Newspaper: Carlos Abedrop Davila announced that he and his partners will buy La Prensa for about $90 million. The tabloid, best known for its sensationalistic reporting and extensive sports coverage, claims a circulation of 300,000. La Prensa was previously owned by its employees as a cooperative. The employees last week voted to become a corporation, making the sale possible. Abedrop said his minority partners in the deal are the Spanish national newspaper El Pais and Jesus Polanco, owner of Santillana de Mexico.
