GETTING IN LINE: The Anaheim Bullfrogs roll into action tonight as Roller Hockey International play debuts at the Anaheim Arena (C8). . . . Club President Stuart Silver expects a crowd in excess of 10,000 for the game against the Utah RollerBees. “Roller hockey is going to be the next big sport,” he says. “We wanted to get involved with a team in Orange County because interest in in-line skating and hockey is very high.”

APPLE A DAY? Newly hired Newport-Mesa school Supt. Cloyde (Mac) Bernd requested that the district pay $6,600 for three Apple computers: one for his home, another for his office and a portable. But school board members reviewing the budget this week may give Bernd only one and reroute the other computers to where they are sorely needed. “We have classrooms without computers,” says Trustee Edward Decker. “I don’t know why one person needs three.”

TAGGED: Fashion designer Michelle Dahan is so furious about Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez’s attempt to link graffiti vandals to bus stop ads for her Tag Rag line she wants him to take a closer look. Dahan called Vasquez and county transportation chief Stan Oftelie to plead her case and invite both men to visit her factory in Vernon. . . . “Talk about vandals,” says Dahan. “I’m the one being defaced and grafittied.” Oftelie says he may go; Vasquez says he’ll let Oftelie handle it.

WOMAN’S WORLD: Women of Achievement, started by Supervisor Harriett M. Wieder to recognize female county employees, is going to open its doors a little--to men. For the first time, the 7-year-old group announced Thursday, it will permit a man to win one of its awards--the new Mentor Award. It’s to honor a county worker who’s been a great mentor for women. “It can be a man or a woman,” says spokeswoman Emmy Day. “We decided to include men because they have been so dominant in the workplace.” There is one catch--only a woman can nominate.
