Friends of Music Schedule 5-Concert Series

The Fullerton Friends of Music has announced its 35th season of free Sunday afternoon concerts, to be given at Sunny Hills High School, 1801 Warburton Way.

* Oct. 24: The Cleveland Duo (Stephen Warner, violin, and Carolyn Gadiel Warner, piano and violin) and guest cellist Bryan Dumm will play works by Mozart, Leclair, Brahms, Bartok and Frank Bridge.

* Dec. 5: The Los Angeles Musica Viva (James Tyler, director), a group specializing in Baroque music, will play works by Monteverdi, Purcell, Telemann, Handel and other composers.

* Jan. 16: Yukiko and Friends (Yukiko Kamei, violin; Shunsuke Kurakata, piano; Glen Swarts, horn) will play works by Schumann, Brahms, Franck and the premiere of a piece by Swarts.

* Feb. 27: The Maggini Quartet will play Haydn’s String Quartet in G, Opus 77, No. 1; Beethoven’s Quartet in E-flat (“Harp”), and the West Coast premiere of Eleanor Alberga’s String Quartet No. 1.

* May 1: Four Hands and Four Voices (soprano Mary Rawcliffe, mezzo-soprano Karen Anacker, tenor Jonathan Mack and baritone Edward Levy; pianists Beulah Strickler and Susan Svrcek) will play works by Schumann, Schubert, Mozart and Brahms.
