EARNINGS : Helionetics Posts Quarterly Profit

Helionetics Inc., the Irvine diversified high-technology company, posted a profit of $555,000, or 4 cents a share, for the second quarter. That compared to earnings of $1.1 million, or 9 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue rose 22% to $4.4 million from $3.3 million. For the first half, profit was $1.7 million, or 13 cents a share. That compared to earnings of $2.1 million, or 19 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Six-month revenue was $7.9 million, up from $7.4 million.
