* HUB Cities, 5610 Pacific Blvd., Huntington Park. About 200 jobs for students in clerical, maintenance, library, health clinic and other positions. For low-income 14- to 21-year-olds who live in Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lynwood, Maywood and South Gate. Must have documentation to demonstrate family size and income, proof of residency, work permit, school ID, Social Security number and other information. Pays $4.25 hourly. * West San Gabriel Valley Consortium, 5900 S. Eastern Ave., Room 108, Commerce. A free vocational training and job placement program for residents of Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, and several San Gabriel Valley cities. Program targets low-income residents 18 and older who have employment barriers such as low basic skills, felony convictions or lack of a high school diploma. Must have documentation of income, Social Security number, residency and Selective Service registration. The program operates under the Job Training Partnership Act. * UAW Labor Employment and Training Corp., 5150 Gage Ave., Bell. Offers job retraining, workplace literacy courses, job placement for unemployed or displaced workers and disadvantaged youth. Must show income level, proof of residence, Social Security number. The program operates under the Job Training Partnership Act, and other state and federal funds. Information: (213) 562-6100.

* 50/50 Program, operated by the Employment Referral Office of the City of Commerce, 5550 Harbor St., Commerce. The city will pay employers half of the first month’s wages for “hard-to-place” employees such as troubled youth and the handicapped.
