It’s a Contradiction
* Regarding “Messianic Jews Meet” (July 3):
Muslim Methodists, Buddhist Baptists and Confucian Catholics make as much sense as Christian Jews. If these so-called Messianic Jews claimed Jesus of Nazareth to be a man who is the Messiah, most Jews would disagree with them on biblical grounds but accept them as borderline Jews.
But this novel sect accepts Jesus as God--ipso facto they are Christians, not Jews. The question remains: Why do they pretend to be what they are not?
