Agreement to Talk Ends New Orleans ‘Blue Flu’

NEW ORLEANS —
A 2-day-old sick-out protest over police demands for collective bargaining and the restoration of overtime pay ended Friday after the mayor agreed to discuss the issues with a police union.
However, the city’s chief financial officer said the city is not recognizing the union for collective-bargaining purposes.
