Amerigon Acquiring Rights to Navigation System

Amerigon Inc., a Burbank maker of components and parts for electric cars, said it will acquire for an undisclosed sum the licensing rights to a voice-activated audio navigation system.

Amerigon, which last month raised $12 million in an initial public offering, said the system, developed by Audio Navigation Systems Inc., will enable drivers to reach their destination without looking at a map. The product is designed to work with a modified radio or compact disc system.
