FTC Ends Intel Probe, Takes No Action: The world’s leading maker of personal computer microprocessors had been the target of allegations of exclusive dealing practices in the lucrative chip market. Intel Corp., of Santa Clara, Calif., had disclosed the long-running investigation of its business practices in June, 1991. “No further action is warranted by the commission at this time,” the Federal Trade Commission said in a statement. However, it said it reserved the right to reopen the case later and its decision does not imply whether Intel did or did not commit any violations. Intel said it handed over some 10,000 documents as part of the probe.
