Irvine’s Platinum Software to Take a Charge on Shares

Platinum Software Corp. said Thursday that it will take a charge of up to 65 cents a share on its acquisition of FRx Software Corp.
With 8.2 million shares outstanding, according to the latest figures available, the charge could total as much $5.3 million.
FRx, based in Denver, is author of the financial software “FRx: The Financial Reporting Extender.”
Irvine-based Platinum said it will integrate an unreleased version of the FRx software with its own line of financial software.
Platinum stock closed at $26.25 a share Thursday on NASDAQ, down 75 cents.
