VAN NUYS : 2nd Jury Sworn in for Menendez Murder Trial

The second of two juries was sworn in Thursday in the murder trial of Erik and Lyle Menendez, setting the stage for opening statements next week.
Jury selection ended for Erik Menendez, 22, a week after it concluded for his brother, Lyle Menendez, 25. They are charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 20, 1989, shotgun slayings of their parents, Jose Menendez, 45, and Kitty Menendez, 47.
Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Stanley M. Weisberg has ordered one trial with two juries because some evidence is admissible against only one brother. Opening statements are set for Tuesday.
