Huge Development Reported for Taiwan: JTL International Corp. said it will build a $740-million, 790-acre resort in Taitung, about 150 miles southeast of Taipei, according to Associated Press. The resort will include a theme park, an arts center, a golf course and at least one hotel and shopping mall, AP said. It said JTL is based in Los Angeles and quoted JTL President Daniel Yee as saying that the project will involve Taiwanese, Japanese and American investors. However, no listing for JTL International was found in the Los Angeles telephone book, and several Asians in the city’s financial circles said they have not heard of the company or its president.
