Ford Consolidates Studios Electronically: To reduce costs and boost efficiency, Ford Motor Co. will use the latest in satellite technology, high-speed communication and fiber-optic cables to link its seven worldwide design studios under a giant global network. Headed by Vice President Jack Telnack, the designers will work as if they were in the same location. No jobs will be lost because of the consolidation, which was planned for several years.
