Alpha Microsystems said Monday that it has substantially acquired all the assets of a longtime customer that specializes in selling computers to dentists.

Terms of the purchase of Alpha HealthCare of Eugene, Ore., were not disclosed.

Chairman Douglas J. Tullio of Alpha Microsystems, a computer maker based in Santa Ana, said the acquisition will help involve his company in sales as well as manufacturing. He noted that Alpha HealthCare, with annual revenue of about $4.2 million, has 1,200 installations serving about 3,000 dentists nationwide.

An Alpha Microsystems spokesman said that Alpha HealthCare will keep its 40 employees, and its headquarters will remain in Oregon.
