Smoking

Share

I want to explain something to letter writer Dorothy Roberts (July 2), who states that the new ban on smoking would not have a counterpart for alcohol because alcohol is much more popular. When someone next to me drinks alcohol, I do not have to worry about my own liver being damaged or fret about the smell of alcohol in my hair or on my clothes. This is in sharp contrast to smoke, which forces its carcinogens into my lungs whether I like it or not and causes me to stink like all smokers do.
