Software Developer: Application & Business Solutions Inc., a company that specializes in developing software for IBM minicomputers, has been bought by a Canadian firm, it was disclosed Tuesday.

ABS was purchased by Ottawa-based SHL Systemhouse Inc., a systems integrator that installs computers. SHL said it wanted the acquisition as a way of enhancing its core business. Terms were not disclosed.

ABS founder T.V. Chang and President Ilene Cohen will both take senior positions in SHL’s Pacific region operations. ABS, based in Cypress, was founded five years ago and has annual revenue of about $6 million.
