Newhall Receives 3rd Teaching Award
Occidental College professor Eric Newhall was given the Donald R. Loftsgordon Memorial Award for Outstanding Teaching by the class of 1993.
Newhall, who is dean of students and teaches contemporary literature and views of American society through literature, has been at Occidental since 1975 and has been honored with the award twice before, in 1979 and 1985. He is the first faculty member to receive the honor three times.
The senior class chooses the recipient of the annual award, named for associate professor of philosophy and Occidental alumnus Donald Loftsgordon, who died in 1966.
