Japanese Vehicle Production Drops in June: Japanese auto makers, hurt by a prolonged recession at home, cut back domestic production in June to the lowest monthly level in 11 years, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Assn. said. In the ninth consecutive month of year-over-year decline, vehicle production fell 10% from the previous year to 987,997--the lowest level for a month of June since 1982, when production totaled 967,367--the group said.
