FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Heil Park Qualifying Deadline Extended

The developer of Heil Park, the city’s first affordable housing community, has extended the registration deadline for pre-qualification to Sunday.

“We want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to live in Heil Park,” said Mark Buckland, president of the Olson Co.

Buckland said the opening of sales is scheduled for Aug. 14--and he expects to sell all 24 homes in one day.

“Currently, we have many more pre-qualified buyers than we have homes,” he said. “But we have structured a sales procedure that will give everyone an equal chance to purchase.”

Buckland said the company will hold a priority drawing, in which names will be drawn from a ceremonial hat.

Homes range in price from $99,000 to $127,900. Three floor plans will be offered, which range from 880 to 1,100 square feet.

Heil Park, at 11911 Heil Ave., is being developed through a public-private partnership between the city and the Olson Co.
