BREA : 7 Residents Chosen for Housing Board

Seven residents have been appointed to the Housing Breans Advisory Board, which reviews affordable housing projects in the city.

The City Council and Redevelopment Agency last week appointed the Rev. Rick Marshall, Vivian Weddle, Christopher Dale, Robert J. Hohenstein, Cindy Howells, William G. McLaughlin and Elizabeth Sackman to serve either four- or two-year terms on the board.

During the past several years, city officials have increased affordable housing efforts and hope to provide 1,500 new units within eight years, council members said.

Therefore, the council in April approved the establishment of the housing board to review and provide recommendations on housing programs.

The board members are city residents who represent Brea’s Ministerial Assn., Senior Citizen Center, real estate and other businesses and service clubs.

The board will decide which four members will serve four-year terms and which will serve two-year terms when it holds its first meeting next month.
