Couple Will Hand Over Girl to Natural Parents

Jan and Roberta DeBoer conceded defeat Tuesday in their battle to adopt the 2-year-old girl they have raised almost since her birth. The DeBoers said they would not pursue any further appeals and would hand Jessica over to Daniel and Cara Schmidt as they have been ordered to do by Monday.

Mrs. Schmidt had given up the child at birth but has battled to get her back since shortly afterward.
