1 Pilot Killed, 1 Hurt in Runway Collision

SEOUL —
One pilot died and another was injured when two single-seater U.S. Air Force F-16 fighters collided on the runway at Kunsan air base in South Korea, the Air Force said in a statement Tuesday.
A U.S. military source said of the accident, “It sounded as if one plane landed on top of the other.”
The Air Force was investigating the cause of the accident at the base 95 miles south of Seoul.
