Datum Inc.: The Anaheim manufacturer of frequency products and timing instruments posted a second-quarter profit of $45,000, or 2 cents a share. That contrasted with a loss of $357,000, or 14 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales declined 10% to $6.2 million from $6.9 million. For the first half, profit totaled $53,000, or 2 cents a share, contrasted with a loss of $337,000, or 14 cents a share, for the same period last year. Six-month sales were $12 million, down from $14.1 million for the first half of 1992. The company said the return to profitability resulted from the divestiture of two subsidiaries, Spectrum Technology and Aacom, which operated at a loss for the quarter and six-month periods last year.
