Illegal Street Vendors Should Be Banished
- Share via
* I am sick and tired of the wall-to-wall illegal vendors plaguing Southern California, especially in the city of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
From corner to corner, there is a massive flow of vendors of ice cream, cotton candy, pork rinds, oranges, peanuts, produce (which is not inspected) and the famous corn on the cob vendors, who steal grocery carts from local supermarkets to set up business in our neighborhoods.
The corn is steamed in a garbage can. The vendor rings a little bell or toots a horn to attract customers. The vendor then opens up the “hot” garbage can, dips the corn on the cob in mayonnaise, melted butter, salt and grated cheese. It is anywhere from 80 to 100 degrees outside. This business on wheels attracts anything from one-inch cockroaches and rats to crime.
Enough is enough! When is a politician going to stand up and back the law-abiding citizen? We want a safer, cleaner, bug-free Los Angeles.
