Red-Tape Reforms

Share

In your editorial “Unraveling Red Tape (July 29),” the so-called reforms seem to unravel the red tape in the wrong direction. What’s not needed is the added level of bureaucracy to “track and determine how long state permits take to be issued.”

If Sacramento is serious, it needs only take the approach that any competitive business must take, produce or step aside. I suggest that the state adopt a policy that allows them 30 days to process permits. Should the state not decide in this period, the permit shall automatically be granted. Business should not be punished because of the state’s inability to produce.
