Coldwell Banker Unit Growing: Coldwell Banker Residential Group, Mission Viejo-based parent of the Coldwell Banker residential realty chain, reports that its subsidiary for company-owned offices has purchased six operations in north coastal San Diego County and four more in Pittsburgh. That brings the total number of offices under its wing to slightly more than 400. In 1992, the subsidiary, CB Residential Brokerage, was the largest U.S. residential real estate operation in terms of the number of deals completed by company-owned offices, according to Real Trends, an industry magazine.

The company’s franchise operation is growing too. That subsidiary, Coldwell Banker Residential Affiliates, added 139 franchises in the first four months of this year and now has more than 1,700 offices in North America and Puerto Rico--all but 110 of them in the United States.
