Times Printers Reject Unionization: Pressroom employees of the Los Angeles Times rejected a bid for union representation by the Graphic Communications International Union Local 10-N with 72.5% voting in favor of The Times. Of the 488 votes cast, 353 backed Times management, including one disputed vote, while 135 voted in favor of the union. The same union local canceled a scheduled vote in 1991 after it determined that it had little chance of winning. The Times is a division of Times Mirror Co.
