Money Supply Mixed: The Federal Reserve Board reported that the measure of the nation’s money supply known as M2 rose in the week ended July 26 to a seasonally adjusted $3,517.2 billion, up $700 million from a revised $3,516.5 billion the week before. An even broader measure, M3, fell $11.2 billion to $4,152.2 billion from $4,163.4 billion. The narrowest measure, M1, increased $2.1 billion to $1,806.7 billion from $1,804.6 billion.
