Gang Member, 15, Sentenced in Murder
ORANGE — A 15-year-old gang member convicted Thursday of first-degree murder for shooting another youth on a La Habra street last year probably will be sentenced to the California Youth Authority until he is 25, authorities said Friday.
Along with the unnamed juvenile, La Habra police are still seeking a second suspect in the Nov. 3, 1992, fatal shooting of 15-year-old Roberto Lucero Jr., said Sgt. Jeff Love.
Arturo Gonzales Landin, 22, “is still in the wind,” Love said. “We’d like to find him.”
Police have issued a $250,000 arrest warrant for Landin.
The day of the shooting, Lucero was walking in the 200 block of Willow Street with friends when a group of young men confronted them, police said.
