Design Delays: PacifiCare Health Systems in Cypress is behind schedule for the opening of what it describes as Orange County’s first corporate-sponsored child-care center. Earlier this summer, parents enrolled their children in the center, but the facility will not open until February, said Susan Dunn, a PacifiCare spokeswoman. Design changes, she said, contributed to the delay in the opening, which has been set for October.
When completed, the 31,000-square-foot center will accommodate 120 PacifiCare employee children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 5 years.
The child-care center is in 48-acre CypressPointe, a mixed-use business park being developed by Los Angeles-based Overton, Moore & Associates.
