Glendale
Verdugo Road and Dixon Street--Thieves with a gun stole $17 and jewelry of unknown value from a man at 1 a.m. Aug. 2.
San Fernando Road, 6600 block--A thief grabbed a bartender’s purse, then punched and shoved her, stealing a $100 check and $10 at 10:15 p.m. Aug. 4.
South Adams Boulevard, 1300 block--Thieves entered a private residence and stole Persian rugs and a VCR, valued together at $4,700, between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Aug. 5.
Glendale Avenue and Garfield Avenue--Thieves with a knife beat a man, then stole his watch, valued at $20, and $2 at 9:13 p.m. Aug. 7.
North Maryland Avenue, 200 block--Thieves pried open the front door of a beauty salon and stole hair products, valued at $600, on Aug. 7 or 8.
Vassar Avenue, 1900 block--A single-story duplex was burned in a fire of suspicious origins at 5:31 a.m. Aug. 8. No one was injured.
La Canada Flintridge
Foothill Boulevard, 1400 block--Thieves stole $1,200 from a cash box in the back room of a store between 9 and 11 a.m. Aug. 4.
Foothill Boulevard, 100 block--Cash, a radio and a camera, valued together at $100, were stolen from a child-care center on Aug. 6 or 7.
Atwater Village
Brunswick Avenue, 3700 block--Thieves unlocked the unsecured door of a private residence and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $2,340, between 1:30 and 4 p.m. Aug. 5.
Fletcher Drive, 2400 block--After entering a business through an unlocked front door, thieves stole musical equipment, valued at $2,000, between 12:15 and 12:30 a.m. Aug. 8.
Eagle Rock
Yosemite Drive, 1700 block--Thieves took electronic equipment of unknown value from a high school auditorium in a theft discovered Aug. 2.
Kipling Avenue, 1100 block--Thieves stole a TV and records or tapes, valued together at $1,150, from a private residence between 5 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
College View Avenue, 5200 block--After forcing open a side door, thieves stole a TV and video equipment between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
Wicopee Avenue, 4800 block--Thieves entered at private residence through an open window and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $1,050, between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Aug. 7.
Echo Park
Glendale Boulevard and Alvarado Street--As a woman ate her lunch in a parking lot, thieves pointed knives at her and stole her car of unknown value and jewelry valued at $1,295 at 1 p.m. Aug. 2.
West Sunset Boulevard, 1400 block--Thieves stole a TV and VCR, valued together at $1,200, from a private residence between 2 and 5:45 p.m. Aug. 5.
Avon and Cerro Gordo streets--Thieves with a gun stole $80 from a person at 2:50 p.m. Aug. 7.
Valentine Street, 2000 block--Three thieves with a gun stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $2,517, from a person on the street at 3 p.m. Aug. 7.
Glassell Park
North Figueroa Street, 3200 block--Thieves with a gun entered a garment factory and stole cash, jewelry and sewing machines, valued together at $16,560, at 4 p.m. Aug. 2.
Division Street, 3800 block--After prying open a rear patio door, thieves entered and ransacked a private residence, stealing cash and camera equipment, valued together at $4,726, between 5:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 3.
Verdugo Vista Terrace, 3400 block--Thieves pried open the window of a private residence to steal cash and jewelry, valued together at $1,700, between 2:40 and 3:30 p.m. Aug. 3.
The Paseo, 3400 block--A rear window was forced open and cash and jewelry, valued together at $7,100, were stolen from a private residence in a theft discovered Aug. 4. In a second theft, a garage padlock was cut and tools and sporting goods, valued together at $190, were taken between 2:30 and 5 a.m. Aug. 7.
Drew Street and Estara Avenue--Thieves approached a woman on a bicycle and stole a ring, valued at $600, at 1:30 a.m. Aug. 6.
Scandia Way, 3900 block--After blocking a woman’s car with their own, thieves with a gun stole her purse and $50 at 7:45 p.m. Aug. 6.
Lavell Drive, 3500 block--Thieves with a gun smashed the window of a woman’s car when she refused to hand over her property, then stole her purse and technical instruments, valued together at $170, at 8:50 p.m. Aug. 6.
Highland Park
Terrace Drive, 6000 block--Thieves stole a radio and video equipment, valued together at $3,489, from a private residence between 7 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. Aug. 2.
Toland Way, 4800 block--Entering through a front bedroom window, thieves stole a radio and video equipment, valued together at $3,080, between 12:30 and 2:15 p.m. Aug. 5.
North Figueroa Street, 5400 block--Thieves entered a market, brandished guns and stole $280 at 5:35 p.m. Aug. 5.
North Avenue 56, 1100 block--Thieves attacked a man and stole his wallet, which contained $410, at 11 p.m. Aug. 5.
Avenue 56 and Monte Vista Street--Bandits took a man’s cash and car radio, valued together at $370, at 3:30 a.m. Aug. 6.
North Avenue 57, 200 block--A security guard saw about 20 people drinking beer in an alley, and when he asked them to stop, they attacked him at 11 p.m. Aug. 7.
Los Feliz
Hollywood Boulevard, 4900 block--Thieves forced open the rear door of a bank and stole computer equipment, valued at $3,000, in a theft discovered Aug. 2.
Franklin and Hillhurst avenues--Thieves approached a woman sitting in her car, hit her and stole cash and a watch, valued together at $300, at 2 a.m. Aug. 2.
Commonwealth Avenue, 2500 block--Entering a private residence through an unlocked rear screen door, a gunman tied up two people with tape, then took an unknown amount of proparty at 10:45 p.m. Aug. 6.
Russell Avenue, 4600 block--A thief with a gun stole a man’s wallet and woman’s purse, both containing credit cards and cash, at 12:35 a.m. Aug. 7.
Mt. Washington
North Figueroa Street, 4100 block--Thieves broke into a storage shed and stole computer equipment, valued at $1,775, in a theft discovered Aug. 2.
Silver Lake
Fanning Street, 1800 block--As a man pulled into a garage, thieves with a knife and gun approached and stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $1,650, at 9:55 p.m. Aug. 2.
Silver Ridge Avenue, 2300 block--Thieves stole sporting goods and a radio, valued together at $10,685, from a private residence at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 4.
Hyperion Avenue, 1100 block--Video equipment and a radio, valued together at $2,605, were stolen from a private residence between 12:45 and 3 p.m. Aug. 4.
Moreno Drive, 2400 block--Thieves entered a private residence through the service porch and stole art objects, valued at $15,000, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Aug. 5.
Hyperion Avenue and Griffith Park Boulevard--Purses containing credit cards and cash were stolen from two women, one losing $400 and the other $530, in a laundry between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Aug. 6.
Angelus Avenue, 1600 block--A gunman stole $85 from two people sitting in a car at 9:50 p.m. Aug. 7.
Glendale Boulevard, 2600 block--Thieves pried open a rear security door and ransacked a private residence, stealing a TV and appliances, valued together at $5,320, on Aug. 7 or 8.
Gracia Street, 2900 block--Thieves approached a man from behind and knocked him unconscious with a club, then stole cash and jewelry, valued together at $200, at 12:30 a.m. Aug. 8.
