IBM Sues Conner Peripherals Inc. for Patent Infringement: International Business Machines Corp. claims Conner infringed upon nine of its disk-drive patents. The suit, filed in federal court in San Jose, also alleges that certain patents now held by the San Jose-based disk-drive manufacturer are invalid and not infringed upon by IBM. Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM seeks to enjoin Conner from further patent infringement and also seeks damages for past infringements. Conner executives were not immediately available for comment.
