PerfectData Corp. Reports $54,000 1st-Quarter Loss

PerfectData Corp., a Simi Valley marketer of computer and office-care maintenance products, said it lost $54,000 in the quarter that ended June 30, in contrast to a profit of $148,000 a year earlier.

For its fiscal first quarter that ended June 30, PerfectData said sales fell 15%, to $1.66 million from $1.95 million. The company said its smaller sales reflected declining business at office-product super stores and warehouse clubs, which carry PerfectData’s products.
