WORLD IN BRIEF : EGYPT : Muslim Militants Targeted Ministers

Muslim militants who almost killed Egypt’s interior minister in a bomb attack targeted other ministers and top religious figures, security sources said. They said militants now on trial in a military court were linked to one of the attackers and had staked out the homes and movements of prominent figures before their arrests. Their targets included Religious Affairs Minister Mohammed Mahgoub, the sheik of El Azhar University and other public figures, the security sources said.
