GE Jet Engine Division to Eliminate 4,000 Jobs

EVENDALE, Ohio — General Electric Co.’s jet engine division said Friday it will eliminate 4,000 jobs, on top of previously announced cutbacks, because of reduced orders for commercial and military engines.
The reductions, along with 3,900 job cuts announced earlier this year, will cut the jet engine division’s worldwide employment to 22,000 by early 1994.
