Nation IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : 4 Killings Now Tied to a Single Gunman
Four random killings have led police to launch a major manhunt for a gloved killer named Kevin who has targeted a violent New York neighborhood with a small caliber pistol, authorities said. The gunman, probably a crack addict, killed all of his victims in the rough Brooklyn neighborhoods of Crown Heights and Brownsville in two nights of carnage in the last two weeks, officials said. “Kevin” comes from the name he gave one woman he was sexually assaulting. Police said ballistics tests determined the same gun was responsible for the four killings.
