Naval Airmen’s Rowdy Party Is Being Probed
HONOLULU — The Navy is investigating allegations of public drunkenness, nudity and foul language at a private party held by naval airmen in the Persian Gulf last month.
Lt. Ken Ross, a spokesman for the Pacific Fleet, said Wednesday that members of a reconnaissance squadron from Guam were celebrating the end of a routine tour of duty in the Gulf.
The squadron commander is reviewing a videotape made by one of his men, said Lt. Kelly Merrell, a Navy spokeswoman on Guam. About 30 people were at the party, held at an off-base facility contracted by the Pentagon, she said. The country where the party was held was not immediately known.
