Key Aldus Executive Steps Down: The Seattle-based software company said Sandy Smith resigned as chief operating officer, a post that is being eliminated. Aldus also said its founder, Paul Brainerd, will relinquish the posts of president and chief executive when a replacement is found. He will then become the company’s first chairman.
