For Hungry Shoppers

Used to be that when you got hungry you drove to the grocery store, filled your cart with items and headed to the checkout counter.

But supermarkets are doing more to ease hunger pangs inside their stores. The latest example is Smith’s Food & Drug Centers, which is opening fast-food restaurants in its locations. Hungry consumers will have their choice of pizza, tacos, hoagies and fried chicken.

The Smith’s Food Courts feature Subway sandwich shops, Pizza Hut Express, Taco Bell Express, Morrison’s Express and Cinnabon, which makes rolls. Food courts are planned for most Smith’s locations, including some in Orange County that have not yet been identified.
