The Crenshaw-Dorsey Community Adult School will hold a school and career fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dorsey Community Adult School, 3537 Farmdale Ave.
The fair is intended to educate the public about the classes and programs offered by the adult school and bring together representatives from various professions to speak on career and employment opportunities.
Representatives from Rebuild L.A., the Urban League, the Los Angeles Police Department, Continental Cablevision and Los Angeles International Airport are scheduled to attend, along with dentists, attorneys and stockbrokers. The event’s keynote speaker is Wayne Bradshaw, president of Family Savings Bank.
Some presentations will be conducted in Spanish, and entertainment will be provided by salsa and jazz ensembles.
“This event is really aimed at people 18 to 25 who may work but aren’t in a career mode,” said event coordinator Loretta Malone. “This is a chance for them to find out what they want to pursue, to settle on something. They can learn what’s available to them right here in the community.”
