Smokers Are Shunned Because of Behavior

Share

* Of course Norman Cramer (Letters, Aug. 22) thinks he’s being “persecuted . . . shunned, criticized and set apart.” It’s not him, it’s his antisocial behavior that’s finally being rebelled against. Like too many smokers, he doesn’t understand how incredibly disgusting and invasive their foul habit is to so many people around them.

Is it asking so much for him to just go outside if he wants to damage his health so he doesn’t victimize innocent bystanders?

By the way, has anybody ever seen any hard evidence to support the widespread claim that restaurants are going to lose money because of the Los Angeles ban on restaurant smoking? Like many people I know, I’m spending a fortune eating at restaurants I would never have even considered entering in the past.
